Local elections: Tory and UKIP on clown candidate claims
Ken Clarke was the "most wonderful example of why people vote UKIP" said Steve Crowther, executive chairman of the party branded "a collection of clowns" in a TV interview by the Tory minister.
Tory MP Bob Neill claimed there was a "£120bn black hole" in UKIP spending plans and he said any party that "wants to play on a national level must expect a national level of scrutiny" after newspaper allegation about some candidates.
Jo Coburn also spoke to Labour's Michael Dugher and Lib Dem Tom Brake ahead of the Thursday's local elections in rural English counties, one Welsh county, two mayoral elections and the South Shields Parliamentary by-election.
