Nadine Dorries on Ipsa, expenses and nurses' home for MPs

The body which deals with MPs' expenses is "pushing the boundaries of truthfulness" and should never have been brought in, a Tory MP has said.

Nadine Dorries claimed Gordon Brown and David Cameron were to blame for the situation, which left MPs with problems over claiming money.

She suggested a "nurses' home" for MPs who need to live in London while at Westminster, with their pay pegged to that of GPs and headteachers.

Recalling the furore over her time in the I'm A Celebrity ITV programme, the MP said she had "not personally benefitted", and her fee had gone to a company covering her media appearances and writing,

She spoke to Andrew Neil and the Sunday Politics panel after a film on expenses, ending with a statement from Ispa.
