PMQs: Cameron and Miliband on banking and bonuses
The prime minister claimed Labour should be writing a thank you note to the coalition cleaning up after the last government.
David Cameron accused Ed Miliband of "another display of extraordinary weakness" and claimed that it was "this government clearing up the mess".
The Labour leader asked the PM if he would use the Banking Bill to bring in the recommendations of a parliamentary commission on banking to jail reckless bankers, and that Labour would put down amendments to the bill if the government did not.
The leaders then clashed over history with exchanges over shadow chancellor Ed Balls' record on banking supervision when Labour was in power, and Mr Cameron's past role as an adviser to Norman Lamont during Black Wednesday when Britain left the ERM in 1992.
