Lib Dem conference: Cable preferred as next party leader
Business Secretary Vince Cable is the most popular candidate among Lib Dem councillors to succeed Nick Clegg as party leader, a BBC Sunday Politics poll found.
The poll of more than 500 Lib Dem councillors saw 38% name him as the best successor, ahead of Tim Farron, Danny Alexander, Jo Swinson, Ed Davey and Steve Webb.
Members were also asked about their priorities for policies and which party they would prefer in a future coalition.
