Scottish independence: Swinney on Salmond referendum plan

An independent Scottish nation could keep the pound, and that would be in "the overwhelming interest of both Scotland and the rest of the UK", said John Swinney.

Scotland's Finance Minister said those backing independence had published a document with "extraordinary detail" which answered questions from their opponents who back the Union.

Mr Swinney told Jo Coburn: "We need to get past the bluffing and get on to the substance of a rational debate about the arguments."
