Autumn Statement: Osborne on fuel duty and fares
Next year's planned fuel duty rise of 2p per litre will be cancelled said the chancellor, who reckoned petrol would then be 20p per litre less than it would have been under the past government.
And George Osborne said that added up to an £11 saving for an average fill-up, before he also said that rail fare rises would be "flat in real terms", and not the previously-announced 1% above inflation increase.
