Ukraine crisis: US military needed, says McCain
Republican senator John McCain has urged the US government to send a military delegation to Ukraine and accused Vladimir Putin of calculating how much he can get away with "just as Adolf Hitler did in the 1930s".
Speaking on The Andrew Marr Show, the former presidential contender called Crimea "a captive nation" and described the European Union response as "hot air and very little action".
Senator McCain also said that it was essential to convince President Putin that the price of further aggression was not worth the penalties and encouraged the West to freeze the assets of Russian oligarchs.
