Russian troops storm Ukraine airbase in Crimea

Russian troops have stormed a military base in Crimea, seizing it from Ukrainian control.

Special forces smashed their way into the Belbek airbase near Sevastopol, using armoured vehicles and stun grenades.

It is the most direct use of force by Russian personnel since the start of the crisis in Ukraine, and follows President Putin's formal declaration that Crimea is part of Russia.

Ian Pannell was inside the Belbek base as the Russian troops and militias moved in.
