Elections: Christian People's Alliance on gay marriage

God can do things with nature and "a lot of Christians believe that God is angry over gay marriage, and God can show that anger", said the leader of the Christian People's Alliance.

But Sid Cordle said the party "did not judge people because of their lifestyle", when he spoke to Andrew Neil on the Daily Politics.

Mr Cordle said "marriage was vitally important to us" with children needing a mother and a father, and government figures showing the breakdown of marriage was set to cost the country £49bn a year.

He claimed the coalition government was "not pursuing Christian politics", and that UKIP "does not provide a natural home for Christians".
