David Willetts on student fees and teaching standards
Students are "more and more demanding and quite rightly so", says the universities minister.
David Willetts also said universities "need to raise their game and improve the quality of the teaching experience for students".
He was speaking to Jo Coburn and Economist editor-in-chief John Micklethwait on the Daily Politics after a BBC survey of 120 universities found more than 20,000 students complained about the quality of their education.
The minister was later asked about reports of his name being put forward as a potential new British EU commissioner.
