Tory MEP Daniel Hannan on European Arrest Warrant
Theresa May's safeguards on the European Arrest Warrant have been dismissed by a Conservative MEP.
Daniel Hannan said it would be the European Court of Justice, and not UK courts, that decides whether these safeguards applied.
He told Andrew Neil on the BBC One's Sunday Politics programme: "The European Arrest Warrant is seen in Europe, not as a free-standing extradition device, but as part of the creation of a pan-European system of criminal justice with its own prosecution service, its own police force and its own court".
