Theresa May: 'European Arrest Warrant concerns dealt with'

Home Secretary Theresa May has been explaining why she wants the UK to opt in to the European Arrest Warrant (EAW), which is being debated by MPs on Monday evening.

The government opted out of all 133 EU police and criminal justice measures last year but wants to rejoin 35 of them - including the EAW.

Some Conservative backbenchers are expected to oppose the plan in a Commons debate on Monday, arguing that the scheme is unnecessary and can cause miscarriages of justice.

However, Mrs May told Radio 4's Today programme that some of the issues of concern had been dealt with.
