Grant Shapps: Rochester, Reckless and general election
The Conservatives have "plans to deal with the issues that people, including UKIP voters, say they want us to deal with", said the party chairman.
Grant Shapps spoke to Andrew Neil about the party failing to retain the Rochester and Strood seat in the by-election, the UK economy, and the Labour and UKIP challenges heading in to the 2015 general election campaign.
He said of the party's previous 'fruitcakes' claims about UKIP: "I don't think it ever makes sense to abuse, or be rude, about people who vote for other parties."
And speaking about Emily Thornberry's picture tweet of a house, van and flags, Mr Shapps said he would "never ever look at a house... and imagine tweeting something like that."
