Autumn Statement: UKIP's Reckless questions borrowing figures

UKIP MP and former Conservative Mark Reckless has "welcomed" the stamp duty changes announced by the chancellor in his Autumn Statement.

But Mr Reckless challenged George Osborne on borrowing figures, asking "if the economy's doing so well, why are we borrowing more than France, Italy, Spain or Greece?"

Mr Reckless said that his party would challenge the Barnett Formula and abolish the departments of Energy and Climate Change, and Culture, Media and Sport as part of its plans to reduce the deficit.
