Tebbit on Tories, Thatcher, Scargill and immigration
Norman Tebbit was parodied as a leather-clad skinhead in Spitting Image; and then Labour leader Michael Foot called him a "semi-house-trained polecat".
Now Lord Tebbit of Chingford, he was a senior cabinet minister in the Thatcher government and a former Conservative Party chairman.
He told Jo Coburn how he entered politics when he was "very irritated" with the Conservative government of the early 1960s and how he knew that Margaret Thatcher would go on to be prime minister.
They looked back on his famous speech about his father who "got on his bike and looked for work", immigration from eastern Europe and Africa, the miners' strike, and whether he would have made a good prime minister.
