Farage defends UKIP plans to scrap some discrimination laws
The UKIP leader, Nigel Farage, has faced criticism for his call to scrap equality laws to allow employers to discriminate in favour of British workers.
His comments have been roundly condemned by politicians and unions who have branded his stance "breathtakingly ignorant", "divisive and dangerous", as well as "deeply concerning".
However, Mr Farage insisted his plans had been misinterpreted and that he was not suggesting the wholesale abolition of race relations laws in the workplace.
