Chinese President Xi Jinping 'not in UK for human rights debate'
China's ambassador to the UK has said he does not think the Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, will use a state banquet next week to raise the issue of human rights.
Liu Xiaoming told BBC's Andrew Marr that President Xi Jinping is visiting the UK to discuss "partnership" with the UK and not debate human rights.
He was speaking ahead of a four-day visit to Britain on Tuesday by the president who is due to attend the banquet hosted by the queen.
