Grieve: Internet monitoring bill should do more to protect privacy

It is important that there should be a "clear structure that shows that any intrusion into privacy is going to be necessary and proportionate to a legitimate end", said Intelligence and Security Committee chairman Dominic Grieve.

The Conservative MP spoke to Martha Kearney on Radio 4's World at One after his committee warned that plans to authorise mass data collection and hacking by Britain's spies do not do enough to protect privacy.
