Scottish independence: Salmond on North Sea oil and gas

The future of North Sea oil and gas will be discussed by the UK and Scottish governments at two separate cabinet meetings in north east Scotland.

The issue is seen as key to the independence referendum debate and coincides with the publication of a report into the industry carried out by former oil executive Sir Ian Wood.

UK Energy Secretary Ed Davey has said North Sea oil and gas will be better supported if Scotland remains within the UK.

First Minister Alex Salmond told BBC Scotland that Scotland has been "short-changed" for decades and will only get its fair share of oil revenues post-independence.
