Scottish independence: Oil 'crucial to Scotland's future'

The future of North Sea oil and gas is being discussed by the UK and Scottish governments at two separate cabinet meetings in north east Scotland.

The issue is seen as key to the debate over Scottish independence and coincides with the publication of a report into the industry carried out by former oil executive Sir Ian Wood.

Political commentator Prof John Curtice told BBC Scotland the issue of North oil and gas would be "crucial to Scotland's future".
