Merthyr Tydfil iron works discovery open to the public
Archaeologists excavating one of the most important industrial revolution sites in Wales have discovered a canal, tram lines, the foundations of coking plants and huge brick flues used for pumping hot air around the site.
People in Merthyr Tydfil will be able to take a look at the discoveries at the former Cyfarthfa Iron and Steel Works on Saturday before the ground is filled in again and a DIY store is built on the site.
Martin Tuck from the Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Society showed BBC Wales reporter Stephen Fairclough around.
