Cerys Matthews directs WOMEX world music concert in Cardiff

A concert charting the history of traditional Welsh music will officially open a music industry trade fair in south Wales.

WOMEX celebrates all forms of traditional music and dozens of concerts will be performed in Cardiff from Wednesday for five days.

The former Catatonia singer and BBC 6 Music presenter Cerys Matthews is the artistic director of Wednesday's show, which aims to tell the story of 30,000 years of Welsh culture.
