Finnish exchange lessons learned at Ysgol Friars, Bangor

Finnish teacher Milka Nieminen has been in north Wales on an exchange visit to learn about differences between both education systems.

She visited maths teacher Chris Parry from Ysgol Friars in Bangor, Gwynedd, who spent a week in Finland to learn more about how the subject is taught there.

The next set of Pisa global education league tables are published next week, and Wales has been lagging far behind the top performing countries such as Finland.

The exchange is part of BBC Wales' Making the Grade education series.

Here, both teachers reflect on lessons learned.
