Firefighters in Wales due to stage more strikes

Fire chiefs have warned people to take care during the next round of industrial action with potentially more incidents in the run-up to Christmas.

North Wales chief officer Simon Smith accused the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) of striking "when the risk to people's safety is inherently more significant".

The union said its row was to do with people's safety and members' pensions. UK ministers say action is unnecessary.

Firefighters will strike for the fifth and sixth times on Friday and Saturday.

Cerith Griffiths, secretary of the Fire Brigades Union in Wales, explained the situation to BBC Radio Wales and urged the public to be careful during the action.
