'Excellent' cancer care in Wales will be maintained, minister says

Cancer care standards in Wales will continue to improve despite the financial challenges facing the NHS, the health minister has said.

Mark Drakeford spoke to BBC Radio Wales in the wake of a major survey of cancer patients, which suggests the vast majority thought their care was excellent or very good.

But the study of over 7,000 patients found there were variations between hospitals and some cancer types.

Those with rarer conditions like lung cancer were less likely to be positive than those with more common cancers.

Mr Drakeford spoke to Felicity Evans on the Good Morning Wales programme.
