Social services bill is a 'step in the right direction'

A flagship bill to reform how social care is delivered in Wales will be debated in the assembly.

The Social Services and Well-Being Bill is designed to simplify social care laws, give people equal access to care wherever they live, and to give carers the same rights as those they care for.

Care Forum Wales, the body representing care homes in Wales has welcomed the bill, saying it will help remove a "postcode lottery" on the cost of care for the elderly.

But it has been criticised by opposition parties for poor drafting and a lack of detail.

Care Forum Wales chairman Mario Kreft and carer Sylvia Prankard gave their views to Oliver Hides on the BBC's Good Morning Wales programme.
