GCSE exams row: Conservative AM backs WJEC calls for a delay

The Welsh government wants to be "game keeper and poacher" in assessing and regulating GCSE exams, the shadow education minister has said.

Angela Burns, Conservative AM for Carmarthen West and Pembrokeshire South, has backed calls for a delay by the head of Wales' largest exam board the WJEC, in introducing new GCSE courses next year.

She said it was alarming how many schools had raised concerns over the results.

Ms Burns spoke to Mai Davies on Radio Wales.
