End of life care: 'I promised he could die at home'

Partners of terminally ill patients have spoken of their experiences managing the end-of-life care for their loved ones.

It comes as the charity Marie Curie Cancer Care calls for dying patients to have more of a say about the standard of care they receive.

They want the Welsh government to undertake an annual survey of bereaved families to see how they feel care services can be improved.

One woman said she had promised her husband he could die at home, and spoke of the support she received from district nurses to achieve it.
