Charmaine Lewis says South Wales Police failed over attack

A mother whose partner attacked her with a claw hammer as her children looked on says she was failed by South Wales Police, who should have known he was a dangerous criminal.

Charmaine Lewis says after seeking help from the police she was taken back home by officers, where she was attacked minutes later.

On Wednesday, the Independent Police Complaints Commission is expected uphold three complaints about the way the force dealt with her case.

Caroline Evans reports for BBC Wales Today.
