Orthodontic wait worry for children in west Wales
If your child needs a brace then they could be in for a long wait, depending on what part of the country you live in.
There are 21 times as many children waiting to have orthodontic treatment in west Wales than in the Newport area.
The statistics have been revealed by Carmarthen West and Pembrokeshire South MP Simon Hart after a Freedom of Information request.
Hywel Dda health board said improvements had been made to reduce the number of patients waiting initial assessments, so urgent cases could be prioritised. It said total waiting times had gone down from 3.5 years to two years, four months.
