New organ donation rules 'brilliant', says ex-Wales prop

New organ donation rules, which presume consent, are to be finalised by Welsh AMs.

A system of presumed consent will take effect on 1 December, meaning people will have to opt-out if they do not want their organs used after death.

AMs will consider exceptions where consent should still be expressed, such as certain body parts including the brain.

Former Welsh rugby international Rhys Thomas, who was placed on the heart transplant list in March, said there was currently "just not enough organs to go round".

He spoke to BBC Wales' Jason Mohammad.
