More to prosperity than economic growth, Sophie Howe says

There is more to prosperity than economic growth, the future generations commissioner has said.

Sophie Howe spoke following the launch of a report into how £1.2bn of public money promised for investment in Cardiff and surrounding areas of south Wales would be best spent.

Experts told the ten councils involved in the Cardiff Capital Region city deal that better transport and digital connections were vital to boost the economy, along with affordable housing and giving school-leavers the skills needed for jobs of the future.

Ms Howe said sharing the benefits and conserving resources were as important as measuring economic growth by gross value added (GVA).
