Racing in the North Pole marathon waist-deep in snow

The North Pole Marathon is one of the most challenging races, where participants run in punishing conditions of snow and ice while coping with temperatures of minus 30 degrees.

Fiona Oakes, who won the women's race, breaking the record time, describes how her face mask froze to her face and she was often waist-deep in snow.
