Italy PM: 'Priority must be to end Libya conflict'

The Italian prime minister, Matteo Renzi, has warned that thousands of Africans will continue risking their lives to sail to Europe unless the civil war ends in Libya.

Many of the migrants start their journey across the Mediterranean from Libyan shores.

US President Barack Obama has also called for a political solution to Libya's problems, as a step towards easing the crisis.
