Army crackdown on Nigeria's Islamist militants

The Nigerian military says it has launched an all-out assault on Islamist militants in the north-east of the country.

An army spokesman said jets and helicopter gunships had been used to attack several Boko Haram camps and a number of people had been killed.

States of emergency were declared this week in three states Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.

Nick Childs reports.
