Temporary shelter for Asia migrants

Malaysia and Indonesia have said they will offer temporary shelter to thousands of Bangladeshi and Rohingya migrants stranded in the Andaman Sea.

Foreign ministers from the two countries plus Thailand have been holding emergency talks in Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur.

The offer has been made on the condition that the international community will help to repatriate or resettle them within a year.

Speaking to the media, Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman urged other countries in the region to join efforts to help the migrants.
