Chinese rocket launch fails one hour after lift-off
A powerful rocket, the Long March-5 Y2, has failed an hour after lift-off from Hainan island.
It had been taking a seven-tonne communications satellite into space.
No further details were released by Chinese state media, other than that an "anomaly" was detected.
The rocket blasted off from the Wenchang Space Launch Centre at 7:23 pm (1123 GMT).
