Turkey protests: Tear gas used as PM urges calm

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is calling for an immediate end to the fiercest anti-government demonstrations for years, which has seen police use tear gas and water cannon.

Mr Erdogan also vowed to push ahead with the redevelopment of the city's central Taksim Square, a plan which triggered the demonstrations
