Russia's Sergei Lavrov on US talks on Syria: 'We both prefer a peaceful way'

US Secretary of State John Kerry and the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov have spoken about the need to solve Syria's chemical weapons crisis, ahead of a meeting in Geneva.

At a joint news conference, Mr Lavrov said the resolution of the chemical weapons issue in Syria will make any military strike by the US unnecessary.
