Eastern Ukraine heading for humanitarian disaster, says OSCE

A "humanitarian disaster" is unfolding within the civilian population of eastern Ukraine, the OSCE spokesman Michael Bociurkiw has said.

He explained that over the winter months, many may be left without "proper shelter and access to food".

Mr Bociurkiw also said that the OSCE's monitoring team had identified three "separate, very large" convoys of unmarked military vehicles moving towards the city of Donetsk from the east since Saturday.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday 14 November 2014.
