Hague: UN Security Council fails to influence events in Syria
The British Foreign Secretary, William Hague, has told a meeting at the United Nations that the Security Council has so far failed to influence events in Syria.
Russia which has vetoed two UN resolutions condemning the violence by the government, said the Syrian situation was a cause of grave concern.
However, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, said there may be a way forward.
