William Hague calls for UN action after visiting Syrian refugees

The British foreign secretary William Hague has re-stated the need for UN action in Syria after he visited a refugee camp in neighbouring Jordan.

After speaking to people who had fled the violence in their country, he said there should be no doubt of the need for the United Nations to take action.

He said that process was the "best hope of averting even greater chaos and bloodshed",

The UN says it has been called on to help more than 100,000 Syrian refugees since April, with more than 33,000 of them in Jordan.
