William Hague: 'Syria not like Libya'

The peace plan brokered by Kofi Annan is the "only option" for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Syria at present, UK Foreign Secretary William Hague has said.

Speaking in Pakistan, Mr Hague said: "We should not think about this in terms of another Libya".

"Any violent solution would clearly involve many more deaths and a great deal more hardship for the Syrian people", he added.
