Kerry: 'World will not watch IS militants' evil spread'

US Secretary of State John Kerry has given a news briefing following his meeting with the new Iraqi PM.

Mr Kerry is at the start of a Middle East tour to build support for action against Islamic State (IS).

He said the fight against IS militants required global effort, and that the United States and the world "will not stand by and watch as ISIL's evil spreads".
