Migration across the Mediterranean: A poem
Hundreds of migrants have drowned in the Mediterranean in just a week, taking the number of fatal casualties to at least 1,300 in 2015.
But despite the dangers, tens of thousands still attempt the journey hoping to escape conflict at home or looking for a better future in Europe.
Nour is a Syrian who fled the conflict in his country. He spent 11 days at a sea crossing from Egypt to Italy.
This is the poem he wrote about his experience, told to BBC Arabic.
