'Assad should step down', says Barack Obama

President Obama has called for the international community to put pressure on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down.

Speaking in Washington he said his administration would keep up the pressure on Syrian authorities to stop their violent crackdown.

And he called for an end to the killing of Syrian citizens by their own government.
