Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been talking to Sky Sports after today's victory: "I am really pleased. It has been a tough patch for myself. I'm delighted with how we went today, we needed a win for the lads and the club.
"Everything clicked today. You go through periods where you're not hitting the back of net or getting the rub of the green. We were defensively solid and built from that.
"I have been in the Premier League a long time now so it is not my first rodeo."

Dominic Calvert-Lewin's goal was his first in the Premier League since September 2024 (v Aston Villa), putting an end to a 16-match run without one in the competition. His goal was also his 57th in the Premier League overall, moving him above Tim Cahill (56) and into third for Everton, with only Romelu Lukaku (68) and Duncan Ferguson (60) scoring more in the competition for the Toffees than him.
Everton led by 3+ goals at half-time in a Premier League match at Goodison Park for the first time since going in at the break 3-0 up vs Bournemouth in February 2017 under Ronald Koeman.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the first Everton player to score a Premier League goal under David Moyes since Steven Naismith netted 11 years and 245 days ago for the Toffees vs Chelsea (May 2013).

Sean Dyche was accused of being too defensive-minded before he got sacked last week, but Everton got a little bit stuck between being hard to beat and pushing for a goal when they lost to Aston Villa on Wednesday.
It meant they were quite open and, although David Moyes' side had chances, Villa really should have won by more than one goal.
I think it will be a similar story here, where Everton's approach will be different because they are at home.
If they were away, I think they would be happy to sit in and soak up pressure, but they might be a little bit more expansive at Goodison Park, and I don't see it ending well for them.
Everton's lack of goals - they have scored only 15 in their first 20 games - is pathetic. It cannot continue but, while it does, it looks like the weight of the world is on Dominic Calvert-Lewin's shoulders.
It should not be a case of him or bust in terms of Everton finding the net but that's how it felt against Villa and he is struggling. I have been there myself, when the goals are not flowing, and he looks hesitant and clunky in front of goal.
As a striker you have got to want chances to come your way but Calvert-Lewin looks like he is on the back foot in front of goal, and also that he's lacking the clarity of mind you have when you are flying form-wise, and you just finish those chances without thinking about them.
So, it's hard to make a case for Everton to beat Tottenham, even though Ange Postecoglou's side are on a poor run too.
Antonin Kinsky did not have a great game in goal against Arsenal but it was a disappointing display by the whole team.
Spurs have fallen so low in the table - 14th - that they need a win, and quickly. This might be the boost they need, although I am not convinced they will keep a clean sheet, even against Everton.

It had looked as if Aston Villa would come away with all three points thanks to an impressive attacking display, but Veatriki Sarri's spectacular strike saw Everton secure a draw after second half-substitutes sparked a fightback.
Villa seemed to be experiencing a new-manager bounce under interim boss Shaun Goater and were set for another win, controlling the bulk of the game at Walton Hall Park.
The moved forward through well-worked, fluid passing routines and attacked Everton in numbers. The work of Canadian forward Adriana Leon was particularly impressive, sending dangerous deliveries into the box and switching wings to keep the Toffees' defence on their toes.
But Courtney Brosnan's expert shot-stopping managed to keep Everton in the game despite remaining under a constant barrage of pressure.
Then the second-half introduction of debutants Kelly Gago and Emma Watson – plus Melissa Lawley – made the difference, providing a renewed energy going forward.
Gago in particular changed the balance, with her pace forcing the Villa defence to face a very different challenge.
It took a wonder-strike to secure a point, but Everton deserved it for their late efforts. Brian Sorensen will be pleased by his side's second-half display, while Goater will be able to take solace in the fact they were so dangerous for so long – even if Villa weren't able to make it count.

Liverpool came out of the blocks quickly at the start of 2024-25 with new manager Arne Slot at the wheel, but have shown glimpses of slowing over recent weeks.
Draws against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League came either side of defeat against Tottenham in the first-leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
They travelled to Brentford without a league win in 2025 and needed to put the record straight in order to maintain their healthy advantage at the top of the table.
Mohamed Salah has often been Liverpool's shining light but the Egypt forward was somewhat anonymous at Gtech Community Stadium, registering just one shot on target.
Dominik Szoboszlai, who hit the crossbar in the first half, and Luis Diaz looked the most likely to score with a combined 13 shots between them.
As the game entered the final throws it looked like Liverpool were going to give up further ground to second-placed Arsenal until substitute Darwin Nunez stamped his mark on proceedings.
Nunez met Trent Alexander-Arnold's low cross to turn home the opener in the 91st minute and he showed composure before picking his spot for the second two minutes later.
The Uruguay forward has taken his league tally to four goals and demonstrated the importance of depth within the squad as they shoot for the title.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot told BBC Sport after today's win: "During the season you're hoping for these moments. Many moments - we could have scored a late winner against United, Forest, Fulham. Today it worked. We managed to score in the last few seconds.
"We were close to not getting what we deserved. The amount of chances we created was like on Tuesday against Forest - a lot. We were close to going off without a win. That combined with a late winner is what we were most happy about. And it was a significant game."
On Darwin Nunez: "He's always having a lot of impact when he comes in. Brings energy and power. Most of our games are the last half hour in control around 18 yards, and that's where he's at his best. The first hour is often open but the last 30 minutes dominant. Then to have someone like Darwin is nice to have.
"I don't only look at results. We created a lot. But now it's a win so I don't have to say look at our performance. I was very pleased with our performance. Brentford made it a fight. They have good players and a good game plan. It was a nice game to watch like every time Liverpool are on the pitch."

Since his first Premier League campaign in 2022-23, only Jhon Duran (eight) has scored more goals as a substitute than Liverpool's Darwin Nunez (seven), while he has more goal involvements as a substitute than any other player (11).
Liverpool's 37 shots against Brentford is their joint-most in a Premier League game on record (since 2003-04), also doing so against Everton in April 2016. The Reds failed to score with any of their first 35 shots in today's game, before netting with their final two through Darwin Nunez.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk told BBC Sport after today's victory: "It was a lot of hard work. Brentford away is a difficult place to come. The way they press high, eventally going to a low block and the quality they have on the break. We did well. We kept working, kept trying. Eventually Darwin made a difference with the two goals.
"We've experienced it two games in a row - especially the second half against Forest. It's also quality from Brentford that they want you to try to force it a bit because they'll get you on the break. We did well and limited them.
"Darwin since the day he came in he brings a lot of energy. As a striker you're judged by your goals. Maybe it's tougher than ever. He's working hard and learning. Today he had a massive part of the victory. It was well deserved.
"Today was a small piece of the puzzle. We have to keep going."
On Darwin Nunez's double: "You have to earn these things. As a striker you get judged on goals especially at a club like Liverpool. Today he put his mark on the game. Very important. We need everyone at their best. Today was his day."
Were they at their best? "I think so, yeah. Don't you think so?"
"They have a very clear structure. You try to break a low block down and if you lose the ball sometimes you can get a counter-attack on you. They create some danger moments. They create them against any team in the league. We handled it well and could have scored more.
"There is no walk in the park. Every game, teams are very good. They want to play their best game against us like we want to play our best game against them.
"If nobody is ready for a bumpy ride then this season will definitely be one."
