  7. Slot say winning trophies even more special at 'certain clubs'published at 19:52 British Summer Time 25 May

Arne Slot holds the trophyImage source, Reuters

Liverpool manager Arne Slot says: "It's always special to win something, but at certain clubs maybe a little bit more."

He tells Sky Sports it was the same when he was at Feyenoord in Holland "where the fans are so passionate, and it's the same and more over here".

"I don't think you expect anything like this. If you look at the Premier League in the last few seasons it was always a race to the end, two or three teams competing to the last day."

Slot says next season is already on his mind and he began mentally preparing for it "probably four weeks ago".

To be part of it was already nice let alone to win it.

When Liverpool win a major trophy, one of the longest roads in the city is transformed.

Queens Drive, which stretches 10 miles (16.1km) from Sefton Park in the city's south to Walton in the north, traditionally hosts large parts of any open-top bus parades for Anfield's conquering heroes.

On Monday, Reds lucky enough to live close to the route are planning to host friends and family from across the country, fire up their barbecues and join the crowds of hundreds of thousands just outside their doorsteps.

Our colleague Jonny Humphries went along to meet some of them - his full report is well worth a read if you get the chance.

Liverpool forward and Premier League Golden Boot winner Mo Salah, in an interview with Sky Sports, talks about how special it is for the Reds to lift the league trophy in a stadium full of fans at Anfield.

"It's incredible," he said. "Last time we did not have the chance to lift the trophy in front of the Kop [because of Covid restrictions in 2019-20].

    "Today we have the chance.

"It is an incredible feeling. For this club it is incredible. Winning the second one with the fans in Anfield."
