    Peter Fortune

There was a very flat reception for Tory winner Peter Fortune here in Bromley and Biggin Hill.

The vote was extremely close with just 300 votes between him and Labour's Oana Olaru-Holmes, who had been expected to win the seat.

Only a handful of claps could be heard as the result was announced and Olaru-Holmes shook her head and refused a speech, turning her head away from the cameras.

    Sarah Sackman

Labour have just won in Finchley and Golders Green… which used to be Margaret Thatcher’s old constituency.

    Sarah Sackman took the seat.

Labour sources are telling me they think they have also won Hendon and Chipping Barnet which have yet to declare.

They also say turnout is up in Chipping Barnet, which is the seat Conservative Theresa Villiers has held for 19 years.

  11. Tories will fall to single figures of MPs in Londonpublished at 04:38 British Summer Time 5 July

    Tim Donovan
    BBC London, Political Editor

It's early days still but so far there's been one Labour gain from the Tories so far in London.

However, the Lib Dems have managed to take three seats from them.

It's clear the Conservatives will be down to single figures in the capital.

Their previous low was 11 back in 1997.
