With five of Cornwall's six constituencies declared as Conservative, the only question left for political analysts is: "Can Andrew George hold on in St Ives?"

It's been a bruising night for the Liberal Democrats and a joyous one for the Conservatives.

I believe the results stem from undecided voters choosing at the last minute to 'stick with the plan' rather than take a chance on a new administration, as well as Conservative warnings about a potential Labour/SNP alliance.

Some people will be hoping Andrew George hangs on in St Ives when the votes are counted this afternoon, just to avoid a complete Tory 'bluewash' across Cornwall. That will be an interesting count and I'll be there, external to bring you the latest.
